A few years ago, the U.S. was a food desert.
With the rise of super-foods like frozen yogurt and pasta, we became accustomed to having lots of things in our home that weren’t actually food.
That was especially true for families with young children, who struggled to find healthy foods.
But as we ate more, we started to realize that food is everywhere.
The first time I ate out was with my husband, and we were shocked at the variety of foods we could find.
We’d never had a big meal before.
We thought we’d never eat again.
We started to eat at restaurants and then at home, eating out less often.
I realized that I could eat as much as I wanted when I had healthy choices.
And it was easy.
I could order whatever I wanted to.
For the first time in my life, I was really getting back to my roots.
I didn’t have to worry about food in the grocery store.
I was eating more healthy foods and enjoying more of what I loved about life.
Now I love my life and want to make a difference in it.
I don’t have a lot of time for shopping, but when I do, I always try to spend my money on something that really matters.
I can’t wait to share the things I love with my family and friends.
