Drinking a white crawfish beer is a must for those who want to enjoy a hearty, sweet beverage, but for those with a penchant for blackcurrant beers, it’s not for the faint of heart.
The American blackcurrants are renowned for their bitter, aromatic flavors and can be quite a hit with a bit of alcohol.
To ensure a good white crawfudge, however, you’ll need to make a batch of white craws and mix them with some other ingredients like fresh blackberries and black currants, along with some water and a little honey.
1.
Put the white crawberries in a small pot of boiling water.
2.
Add the honey, sugar and cinnamon to the pot and bring to a boil.
3.
Once it starts to boil, remove from the heat and let the mixture cool.
4.
Next, put the white currants into a blender and blend until the currants are a pale, amber color.
5.
Put a few tablespoons of the mixture into the bottom of a cup, and add some milk and some water to keep the mixture from sticking.
6.
Serve it with a scoop of white chocolate frosting and some fresh blackcurries.
Recipe: White Crawfish Beer 1 1/2 cups blackcurrents 1/3 cup white sugar 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup water 1/4 cup fresh blackberry honey (or a mixture of 1/8 teaspoon of blackcurrens and 1/16 teaspoon of white currens) Combine the currents, sugar, salt and water in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat.
Simmer the currant mixture for 15 minutes or until the mixture is thick.
Remove the curretions from the saucepan and let them cool.
Remove all but the last inch of currants.
1/5 cup fresh blueberries Combine the blueberries, sugar in a blender or food processor, and blend for 30 seconds.
Add 1 cup of water, the blueberry honey and 1 teaspoon of salt.
Blend until smooth.
Pour into a serving bowl.
3/4 teaspoon honey Add 1/6 teaspoon of honey to each cup of white sauce.
Pour mixture into a mixing bowl and beat until smooth and creamy.
Pour over the blue berries.
Recipe Notes If you are unfamiliar with the taste of black currant, I would recommend using 1/7 teaspoon of sugar instead of 1 tablespoon.
I also like to add a splash of honey in my blackcurrrant sauce.
