Starbucks is finally ready to announce that it’s launching a coffee drink that it says is a “great fit” with the coffee it’s making.
The new Paloma drink will be a “super drink,” Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz told reporters in a call.
It’s named after the company’s first-ever coffee, Paloma.
It’s a light and refreshing drink, with “premium” caramel flavors and a light caramel-like consistency.
It comes in three flavors: caramel latte, espresso, and espresso latte.
The Paloma drinks will be available to Starbucks employees starting in early April.
“We wanted to make sure we were putting our best foot forward,” Schultz said.
“We wanted the customers to enjoy this beverage and not have to go to Starbucks to do it.”
The new drink will feature flavors that are different from the Starbucks regular Paloma coffee, including the flavors of vanilla, caramel, and chocolate.
The drink is also a little more intense than regular Palomas.
There’s a limited supply of the new Palomos available to customers in the United States.
The company has not yet revealed how much it will cost, but Starbucks said it will be around $9 for a 750-ml can.
Starbucks plans to offer palomas in a variety of flavors including dark chocolate, dark cherry, caramel cherry, chocolate, and sweet vanilla.
There’s also a limited release of the paloma in a limited-edition caramel-colored version.
The palomos will also be available in a single flavor: the “Paleo” flavor.
Starbuck Schultz also told reporters that Starbucks is working on adding flavors to its Palomosa drinks in the future.
“I think we’ll have a paloma for every flavor of coffee, every type of coffee,” he said.
Starbursts latest big bet is in the realm of food.
The coffee giant plans to make its own food with the Palomoses new beverage.
The Palomosedale, for instance, will include flavors like caramel sauce, caramel sauce caramel, caramel-coconut caramel, coconut-caramel caramel, cherry-cappuccino, coconut caramel, chocolate-candy caramel, lemon-cinnamon-biscuit, nutmeg-camel, peanut butter-carnitas, and peanut butter caramel.
“I want to be in the business of creating something that tastes like what we want our customers to be tasting,” Schultz added.
“It’s kind of a sweet, fruity, savory, nutty, salty, and rich, with a great blend of flavors.”
